People like models. Especially models about other people. Too often we are put in recognizable, known frames (models). You have a PhD, you worked at University, you must be only academic and don’t know much about business. Or revers. You do business development, you don’t know much about tech/science. Or any other sort of preconception and prism thought others look at you (business ignorant artist, science illiterate businessmen, marketing deaf engineer, pick whatever you want). Yes, it is easier to look at the world and people like this. Humans are too complex to understand, and seeking recognizable frames to put them into, reduce complexity, understanding and thus prediction of behaviours. But people are so much more than that.
New, much richer world opens once when you realize or leave possibility that many do not fit standard models. The most interesting people never do. Business knowledgeable PhD scientist, science-oriented businessmen, artistic entrepreneur, storytelling engineer. I have meet many of them.
Unexplored, more interesting, world of opportunities lies ahead, when you are open to the idea that we are all more than we appear to be (life is more beautiful too).
